Glenis and I took a steady drive through the beautiful Charnwood Countryside, to arrive at the hotel early, to check tables, etc, and put out the RREC sign at the gate.

Before we knew it people were arriving. I think Nicolas and Eileen were first, in their lovely Derby Bentley, It was a nice October day, a little cold, but with some bright sunny periods. Following a drink and a chat in the bar, we all settled in to our places, along with a welcome late comer, Jessie Woodhouse, a friend of Richard Haskings, she had just come back from a cruise, to see the Northern Lights. She was understandably very tired, but still keen to tell us what a good time she had.

Amongst our table of eight were Jane and Gary, who run a superb proper old-fashioned, fish and chip shop, in Forest Gate, Anstey Leics. and their friend, Gab. Gary had an interesting story of how he had bought two Silver Shadows at the same time, and promptly gave one away, not to me, I hasten to add.

We all agreed, it was a excellent meal, in superb surroundings and good company, what more could anyone ask? It was a pity it was a little to cold to look around the well maintained gardens, so it was now time to say our goodbyes. A few of us stayed behind in the lounge for a cup of tea.

We solved a few of the worlds problems, including Brexit, then took a steady rideMembers on table 4 toasting the photographer home, A most enjoyable afternoon.
